About the Organization: On Monday, May 4, 1970, Kent State University students were protesting the expansion of the Vietnam War into Cambodia. The Ohio National Guard was present on campus and shot into the crowd of unarmed protestors, killing four students and wounding nine. This service opportunity will help prepare for the 2025 commemoration.
Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers will help prepare the site of the May 4 tragedy for the commemoration, which will take place the following weekend. This project is part of a larger Day of Service program planned by Community Engaged Learning.
