About the Organization: The service projects that will be included in this event benefit (1) Flashes Fighting Hunger, which is a student-led, volunteer-powered food security initiative at Kent State open to students, faculty, staff and community members; (2) Kentway Apartments, which is a subsidized senior residential facility in Kent; and (3) Kent City Schools, particularly elementary schools and the middle school.
Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers will have the opportunity to make T-shirt Tote Bags, which can be provided to the Flashes Fighting Hunger food pantry; decorate placemats with positive messages for use at Kentway Apartments; and create friendship bracelets to be distributed to students in Kent City Schools. Each of these projects will take place at Crawford Hall, which will allow students and alumni the opportunity to informally connect with representatives from companies who have a relationship with the university.
