    Event Information:

    • Hosted by: Community Engaged Learning
    • Age Restriction: None
    • About the Organization: According to the Arbor Day Foundation, a mature tree can absorb more than 48 pounds of carbon dioxide per year, releasing oxygen in exchange, which is roughly equivalent to the CO2 produced by driving a car 20 miles. This means a single tree can provide enough oxygen to sustain multiple people daily.
    • Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers will plant young trees on the Kent Campus in an effort to not only beautify Kent State, but also to contribute toward the institution's commitment to environmental sustainability. This project is part of a larger Day of Service program planned by Community Engaged Learning.
