Join us for the Mapping Akron Celebration Thursday, Oct. 26, at Summit Artspace. Funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council, the Mapping Akron community arts project seeks to foster creative discussions of home, place and belonging for residents of Akron, Ohio, through expressive writing and placemaking workshops. Hear these stories and add your perspective on what it means to call Akron home in this culminating celebration. We are excited to honor everyone who wrote with us along the way. Refreshments, interactive mapping and writing activities, along with poetry will be provided. RSVP by Oct. 15. Mapping Akron is supported by its partners at the Akron Art Museum, Leadership Akron, Our Lady of the Elms School, Coventry High School, Edgewood Village, Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts, SCOPE Academy, Family Promise, Jennings CLC, Project Learn, Summit Artspace and the Akron-Summit County Public Libraries.
