At Homecoming, we will celebrate 100 years of student journalism! Since 1926, the Kent Stater has been an integral part of the Kent State story. To recognize your important role in Kent State history, you are invited to join us as the official Homecoming 2026 Parade Grand Marshals! The Homecoming Parade takes place at 10:30 a.m. on the Kent Campus, where you will board a float or walk along our route down Summit Street.

Then you can join the alumni celebration at the Flash Nation Tailgate starting at noon. It’s a great opportunity to connect with old friends and remember the bonds you formed during your time at Kent State. After the tailgate, cheer on the Golden Flashes as they face Ohio University. As a token of appreciation, you will receive a 2026 Homecoming T-shirt and one complimentary general admission ticket to the football game.

Please note that guests will not be able to join you on the parade float, but they will be able to view the parade from in front of the Kent Student Center. They are welcome to join you at the Flash Nation Tailgate and football game as well.
